How global exchanges change

A conference to share knowledge about the power, purpose and value of international exchange between artists, designers and makers.

Cultex is the starting point to explore how the lives of artists, makers and designers are changed by international exchange and dialogue.

Speakers for this one day conference include:

  • Professor Janis Jeffries, Director of the Constance Howard Resource and Research
    Centre in Textiles at Goldsmiths
  • Jeremy Theophilus, co-director of the HAT International Exchange Programme
  • Tim Parry, Senior lecturer in Woven Textiles at Bath Spa University, Sally Lai, director of the Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester
  • Yasmin Canvin, Interim Director at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art
  • Professor Lesley Millar, the curator of Cultex.

We are also delighted to welcome Gabriella Göransson, Yuka Kawai and Eva Schjølberg, participating artists in Cultex, as guest presenters.

Conference starts at 10.30 and ends at 5.00.
